October 28, 2019 – Bureau of Jail Management and Penology – Binirayan Hills, Brgy, 8, San Jose de Buenavista, Antique, Barbaza Multi-Purpose Cooperative conducts its Annual Social Service called “Visita Selda”. This program is designed in observance of the National Correctional Consciousness Week (NACOCOW). The observance of NACOCOW aims to raise public consciousness on the plight of Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) or inmates and to promote unity between BJMP personnel and PDLs. The activities being held at the BJMP San Jose prepared by Barbaza MPC includes a Motivational Talk from Rev. Rommel P. Marcelino, Barbaza MPC ELECOM Chairperson, a Medical and Dental Mission with free medicines. During lunch time Barbaza MPC serve the lunch to the inmates and proceeded to the Gift Giving Activities. The gifts includes hygiene sets and mops and brooms to help keep their place clean and tidy. The program ended with a message from the PDL Representative and the BJMP Management and finally a closing remarks of Mr. Rey Tocoyo, Barbaza MPC Sibalom Branch Manager.
