Landbank of the Philippines has announced this year’s winners in Gawad PITAK, the yearly award it gives to successful micro entrepreneurs.
The outstanding Agri-based are Buenvista Development Cooperative(Guimaras) , followed by Talabutab Norte Primary Multi-Purpose Cooperative (Nueva Ecija) and Bontoc MPC ( Leyte).On the other side, the Outstanding Non Agri based are Sacred Heart Savings Cooperative( Ilocos Sur),Watchlife Workers MPC ( Bataan), Socorro Empowered People Cooperative (Surigao de Norte and NIA Region 4 MPC (Laguna).
The coopertive’s success is validate with the confernment of the Ginintuang Gawad sa Pinakatanging Kooperatiba ( Gawad Pitak) under the Non- Argri based category where it won P1 million worth of fixed assets was won by Barbaza MPC.
Gawad Pitak is now on its 25th year, is a pioneering program that searches and recognizes outstanding Agri and Non- Agri Based Cooperatives in the country which serves as actual channels in providing financial and technical provision to the economic endeavours of small farmers, fishers and other sectors in the society
