March 7, 2020 – Barbaza MPC held its 2020 Ownership Meeting in 8 of its 10 branches. The two branches that was unable to conduct its Ownership Meeting because of a different schedule are the Culasi and San Jose Branch. This is due to the COVID19 Control Measure of the Government that discourage assemblies and meetings. During the Ownership Meetings, the status of the Coop of the previous year was presented and discussed. For example, the membership growth, savings and deposits growth, share capital, net income and losses from businesses. While the meeting is being held, an ongoing Gugma Sa Kooperatiba program is being conducted simultaneously. In Barbaza Main Office, free medical check up and free medicine are given to those deserving and needy members. Other branches offers free eye checkups and free eyeglasses given to a certain number of indigents. A selected members who are single parents and needy are also given free gift packs from the coop. There is an open forum to address the queries of the members and a raffle draw was carried out to wrap up the activity.
